Spartan Pride, Week of September 10-14, 2012

Spearfish School District The transition from three to five days of school has been a nice way to start the school year.  I anticipate the coming week will start to feel like routines have begun to be established.  It is important that students develop a "checklist" either mentally or on paper to ensure proper organization and adequate planning.

Question that might be included in the checklist:
1) Do I have homework tonight?  (check my planner)
2) Which books do I need to bring home tonight?
3) Do I need to take my band instrument home to practice?
4) Are there any activities I plan to attend tomorrow?

Middle school is an excellent time to continue to develop the organizational skills necessary to be a successful communicator and planner.  I am hopeful that our parents taking a few minutes each night to visit about day and learn about what your child is learning at school.
