Wrestling and Girl's Basketball Activities finish up this week.  Our student athletes have done an amazing job of representing their school and community.  Boy's Basketball and Drama Club Parent/Athlete meetings will take place this week.  See the bulletin below:

As we look ahead to January 2014, school will resume on Monday, January 6th.  The Parents as Partners meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 20th.  The agenda will include the sharing of survey results from the parent and student AdvancED the growing enrollment in the Spearfish School District and options for dealing with the growth.  If you have other specific topics please let me know by contacting me at sbaier@spearfish.k12.sd.us.

I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable holiday season.   Stop by the Staff Lounge on Monday to enjoy a holiday treat.  Thank you for your dedication and tireless commitment to our students and their learning.  You deserve a break!  

1)     7th & 8th Grade Band Concert, 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the HS Auditorium, December 16, 2013

2)     Winter Activities Meeting, Thursday, December 19, 6pm – 7pm in SMS Gym (Boys Basketball, Drama, Dance)

3)     No School, Holiday Break, December 23-January 3  (School begins on January 6)

4)     Office Remodel Project Continues:  We plan to move in to the new office over the break!  Elaine will get to move to the media center office from January 6 through mid-January.   The main doors will be back in business when we return after the new year.   Counseling services will be located the following locations:   Ms. Potter, Office next to the 6th grade TPC.  Ms. Doll-Dunn, Office next to the computer lab in the library (Mr. Baier’s old office).

7)     Reminder to consider application for a Spearfish Foundation Grant.  Go to: http://www.spearfishschools.org/  for more details.

8)     Smarter Balanced  (Teacher) Practice Test:  Please click on the green ball icon titled:  “SBAC SecureBrowser”6.0”  on your desktop and follow the instructions to take the practice test.  Please complete the teacher practice test (ELA or Math) by January 20th.
