Weekly Spartan Blog: March 3-7, 2014

Spartan PRIDE
Supporting our school community core values.

Today, we completed the 2nd trimester of the school year.  March is here and spring is around the corner.  We are excited to celebrate student success at an assembly planned for Friday, March 7th at 8:30 a.m.   As part of the START program, students have participated in a airplane building and flying contest.  The top two winners in each START group will complete in the airplane flying contest finals at the assembly.

Additionally, 300+ students without a tardy during 2nd trimester, will be part of a drawing for prizes.  The Dance Team will perform and Mr. Baier will share achievement data from 2nd trimester.

Our school continues to place an emphasis on building a strong community built on a culture of respect.  Events like the trimester celebrations, START activities, special events, and specific curriculum activity help us make progress on our goal to have everyone person respected every day.  Please join us for this celebration event.  We are proud of our students for their effort and achievement.

In an effort to grow a culture of respect, I have been working with student leaders to develop strategies to effectively engage all students in a positive way.  We are investigating ways to improve our school community through assemblies, learning activities and strategies for success.  The issue of bullying in school is always present.  We are committed to developing a culture of respect!  Students are working with school adult leaders on this important topic.
