Weekly Spartan Blog: March 17-21, 2014

Spartan PRIDE
Supporting our school community core values.

Spring may have finally arrived!  Track season is underway with great student numbers in 7th and 8th grade. The third and final trimester of the school year is in full-swing.  The theme for the school year is "Run Your Own Race."  Keeping the theme in mind, we want students to "finish strong."  Please take some time to discuss accomplishments and challenges to this point in the school year.  What adjustments can be made to create the conditions for the finish you desire?

Looking ahead, we host the Northern Hills Solo Ensemble Contest this Saturday, March 22nd.  Our band and choir students have been preparing for this much anticipated event.  Good luck Spartans! In early April through mid-May each grade level will participate in the Smarter-Balanced Assessment.  See the testing windows in the coming events calendar below.  It is very important that you schedule appointments at times that don't interfere with testing.

Parents as Partners Meeting:  Next Meeting will be Monday, April 7th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the SMS Library.  The meeting topic will focus on enrollment projections, new programming for next year and the AdvancED site visit.
