Spartan PRIDE
Supporting our school community core values.
We are a month away from the Day of Understanding activity scheduled for December 1-3, 2014. We are in the process of selecting approximately sixty 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to help us with the activity. We believe student leaders are essential in our
efforts to create a culture of respect and excellence at Spearfish Middle
School. All students will participate in the event. Student leaders for Day of
Understanding, serve as leaders in the following ways:
- Participate in a ½ day leaders’ training on the morning of December 1st
- Serve as a small group leader for activities in December 2 and 3. Two student leaders for every eight students in a group will guide small group activities designed by our presenter, Keith Hawkins.
- Miss 1 ½ days of class time. You will be responsible for making up the work ahead of time
- Take an active leadership role to support our goal of creating a culture of respect and excellence.
- Work hard to develop the skills to work with others, communicate clearly and create positive change.
