Weekly Spartan Blog: November 10-14, 2014

Spartan PRIDE
Supporting our school community core values.

We are very excited to celebrate with our heroes at the Annual Veterans' Day Event held at Spearfish Middle School.  All veterans and their families will be invited to have rolls and refreshments after the ceremony.  The event is planned entirely by the SMS Student Council  We hope to see you on Tuesday, November 11th at 8:30 a.m. in the middle school gymnasium.  We are thankful to those who have served our country in the armed forces.

Our student leadership program, Spartans 4 Spartans, is preparing for Day of Understanding to be held on December 2nd and 3rd.  We have developed a logo that will be used as a symbol to represent our goal to build leadership capacity in our student body.  There are many great things to come.  The 71 student leaders will lead small group activities on December 2 and 3 after participating in leadership trainings on November 12, 19 and December 1st.  It is our desire to empower students to create the change they desire in our school culture.  Create a place where all students feel valued and respected.
