SMARTER Balanced Testing this week: 7th grade students, April 20-30
Dear Parents:
I have included the information
about our much anticipated End of Year Celebration below. We are seeking
volunteers, supply donations and cash donations. We appreciate anything
you can do to support the last day of school activities. Please review
the list below and consider how you might be able to assist. Supply and
cash donations can be dropped off at the school beginning immediately.
Teachers have until May 1st to provide me with supply needs. I will keep
you updated on a weekly basis. Thank you in advance for your support.
Spearfish Middle School "End of
Year Celebration and Lunch,
Date: Friday, May 22, 2015
Tentative Schedule:
- 8:15-9:50 a.m. Time in classrooms
- 9:50 Students released to football practice field
- 10:00 a.m. START Time activity stations
- 11:15 a.m. to Noon, Lunch served
- 12:00 p.m. START Time Tug of War Competition
- 12:45 Students return to building to prepare for 1:00 p.m. early released
Theme: Spartan Up
The following list of supplies/items is needed to plan for the 3rd Annual End of Year Celebration. Each START Time Group in each grade level has identified an activity that all students in that grade level will participate in. For example: There are 9 sixth grade START groups. All students in sixth grade will participate in all 9 activities. I have included supplies and donations needed for you to consider below.
The deadline is Tuesday, May
19th. Please bring all donated items to
the main office on or before May 19th. If you have any questions, please
call the office at 717-1215. We will serve a pizza lunch beginning at
approximately 11 a.m. The lunch will be provided at no cost to the
students. Please consider a cash
donation to help defray the cost of the pizza lunch. Make
checks payable to Spearfish Middle School.
I will send a weekly update on
supply needs through May 19th. Feel free to call the office
for a more immediate update at 717-1215.
Total Projected Cost for the student

6th Grade:

6. Small bags of chips for lunch (145 students)

6th Grade:
1. 3 parents to serve lunch (10:00 a.m. to Noon)
2. 10 packages of Oreos
3. 75 water balloons for balloon toss game

9. Small bags of chips for lunch (160 students)
10. Cash donation for pizza lunch (checks payable to Spearfish Middle School)
8th Grade:
1. 3 parents to serve lunch (10:00 a.m. to Noon) 2. Strips of cloth or rope (3 ft sections) 3. 20 bags of gummy worms (not bears) 4. 25 containers of generic cool whip 5. 12 rolls of paper towels towels 6. 6 packages Oreos 7. 100 paper plates

9. Small bags of chips for lunch (180 students)
